Vui Sebastian Mariner
Director / Principal Civil Engineer
Vui Sebastian is the founder and leader of OSM. He is a highly qualified and experienced civil engineer with a BE Civl (Hons) from the University of South Australia, and a Masters in Engineering Science from the University of New South Wales (Australia). Vui Sebastian is also a certified public accountant (Samoa Institute of Accountants) and an accredited mediator (Accredited Mediators of Samoa Association). He is also a council member on the Institute of Professional Engineers of Samoa. Sebastian serves as an Associate Pastor for the Apia Harvest Centre (AHC) Church at Togafu’afu’a, and he is a part-time teacher at the AHC Bible College. In addition to that, Sebastian holds a Diploma in Ministry from Rhema Bible Training School. During his spare time, Vui enjoys coffee, action movies and and reading. His chiefly title – Vui – is from his mother’s village of Lano in Savai’i.
Corporate Service Manager
Shorley is the ‘mother’ of the company. She ensures that everyone stays in line, but also has a good time. Shorley is the face of OSM, representing the company at meetings and other gatherings outside of the office. She holds degrees in Sociology and Education from Flinders University (Australia) and a post graduate diploma in Public Sector Management from Massey University (Palmerston North, NZ). Furthermore, Shorley is a graduate of Rhema Bible Training Centre South Pacific with a Diploma in Ministry. She is currently studying for her Diploma in Theology at the AHC Bible College. Shorley is passionate about her work with the local community and she is an avid photographer who can convince even the most camera shy person to smile for a photo. She is a natural people-person who enjoys making new friends, gardening and spending time with her family.
Azriel, who goes by Aze, is one of OSM’s newest team members. However, despite being a new addition, he has managed to fit right in and hit the ground running. Aze graduated from Victory University, Australia and he is also a member of the Institute of Professional Engineers of Samoa. He is an adventurous engineer who likes taking on new challenges and he enjoys working with a variety of people to achieve the same goal. Aze is a proud gym rat, rugby fanatic, and skilled sports player.
Akira is one of the youngest staff members, but he is also one of the most outgoing and enthusiastic team members. He is a qualified plumber, who is also proficient in Auto-Cad and other advanced engineering applications. Akira joined the team in 2011 after graduating from the National University of Samoa and he is of Japanese and Samoan descent. Akira is a tech-enthusiast and he especially loves mobile phones. In fact, he usually carries more than one on his person, at any one time.
Multimedia Specialist / Manager (OneLook Communications)
Laufa is a former TV journalist who joined the OSM team in 2007. She holds degrees in Journalism and Tourism from the University of the South Pacific, Fiji. Laufa is the Manager of OSM Consultant’s sister company, OneLook Communications (www.onelookpacific.org). She is the go-to media and language specialist, and she handles all of the company’s press releases, media-related communications and language translation activities. Her favourite things in the world are Samoan cocoa, freshly ground coffee and coconut cream.
Falefasa (aka Fasa) is OSM’s number one go-to person. Ask anyone in the team and they will tell you that she is the best right-hand-woman for any project or task. Fasa has been with OSM since 2009 and she is a graduate of the National University of Samoa with a major in Accounting. She is responsible for OSM’s money matters as well as numerous other company logistics. Fasa’s enjoys the occasional cheesecake and delectable spread of Nutella, as well as spending time with her family.
Taiai is one of OSM’s longest serving members who has worked faithfully in the area of administration. She is the first face you will see when you enter and she goes out of her way to ensure that all of OSM’s clients feel right at home. Taiai is a former student of St Mary’s College and she is a regular attendant of local courses on Customer Service. Taiai always purposes to practice what she has learnt and she is a dedicated, loyal, and honest team member.
